The Fake Press: CBS News in free fall

Many of us have noticed the major changes in the output and lean of CBS News which was just like NBC News and to a point ABC News (although they paid the administration in the dubious lawsuit) left with some sort of reliability on the news coverage unlike FOX News (Which many conservatives love and have on 24/7). After the Skydance and Paramount merger which was closed in 2025 shortly thereafter Paramount (David Ellison and his dad who runs Oracle the AI Company Larry Ellison) bought a Substack based independent right leaning news blog The Free Press ran by Bari Weiss for $150 million and put her in charge of running CBS News with not as much experience of running a well established news organization. Weiss was named Editor and Chief with the job of managing the editorial direction of CBS News. From blocking 60 minutes stories that don’t fit the narrative of the current administration, to letting go talent that doesn’t agree with her agenda and or how the stories should be handled. Also letting go legacy talent such as the anchors who just revamped their flagship newscast CBS Evening News earlier in 2025 (under different ownership and management in the editorial department) which has a new format just to revamp it again with a not very liked anchor from the morning show to technical issues. These changes all from a Free Press YouTube channel that doesn’t even get a quarter of the views or audience the CBS channel does. This was and is a disaster like we said from the beginning and we have to be very careful about what precedence we set when an inexperienced reporter is running a legacy media outlet. This was only the beginning and we’re watching as more media rather it be CBS or Nexstar are continuing to undermine the people they serve.
